Measurement and evaluation system supporting psychological examinations based on synchronized measurement of bio-physiological and cognitive indicators

The FIPOK system provides objective measurement data for forming psychological opinion during HR selection processes, vocatinal aptitude tests, and psychological condition assessments.

The FIPOK system is a tool that can measure how well someone performs in different areas of thinking while they do cognitive exercises. At the same time, it keeps track of certain physical responses, such as the person's stress or relaxation levels and how often they blink. By doing this, it can help understand how well someone is able to handle difficult or stressful situations and how well they can recover from them. This system is useful for identifying areas where someone may need more support or training to improve their cognitive abilities and overall well-being.

The importance of mental fitness and regular screening, including stress-induced performance impairment, is becoming increasingly important in the aptitude testing of persons performing tasks with a high level of responsibility or a particularly demanding cognitive workload.

The protocol-based measurements enable you to compare the individuals' performance within a group. See how your team members compare regarding resilience, their ability to recuperate, their strengths and weaknesses to help with selecting the most suitable person for the task at hand.
By regularly measuring an individual a clear picture of the individual's current mental state and stress levels can be formed and changes over time can be monitored. The system is also suitable for regular training of cognitive abilities and for the conscious reduction of negative effects of stress by neuro- and bio-feedback training.

Measurements follow a configurable protocol consisting of a sequence of relaxation phases, questinnaires, and computer task phases inducing stress. The subject wears an EEG headband and an ECG chest strap which provide raw physiological data for the system to compute relaxation levels based on ECG alpha waves and stress levels based on various heart rate varibility (HRV) parameters. A camera-based measurement component is also integrated into the system which uses artificial intelligence algorithms to detect head position, movement, and facial expressions.

During the development of the FIPOK-system, we reviewed the scientific research literature and the available cognitive tasks and games. As a result, we developed and integrated a dozen selected games into the FIPOK-system, which measure domains such as hand-eye coordination, perception, planning, and reasoning and quantifies performance.

Since they were developed in-house, the games are configurable: parameters can be set that control the frequency of obstacles, the signal and memorization times, etc. We are also open to develop further games based on input from game design researchers' input and we can also incorporate your specific psychometric task! The available tasks and games are suitable to give quick feedback about the participant's current state, strengths and weaknesses.
As a step in the protocol it is possible to add a self-reporting (subjective) psychological questionnaire and the system records the subject's replies in parallel with objective stress-level measurements. This opens a new dimension in questionnaire evaluations: digitalized questionnaires allow for a time-based analysis of the answering process, while the objective measurements provide an extra validation of the results.
